Hymn 745 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God

Over the last few months I had begun to realise how many possessions I owned and how many I did not need.

I am full of gratitude to a loving father God that I have been able to live so comfortably and safely – really not wanting for anything.

So I decided on a BIG ADVENTURE. For six months could I seriously manage with less of everything? This decision proved to be well out of my comfort zone! It took me some time to get my head around to realising I could manage with much less and want for nothing.

Surprisingly my wellbeing has not been affected and I am beginning to appreciate it all, slowly at first! It is astonishing how the focus changes in buying ‘things’.

This advent season has been of particular blessing as to my decision to give presents from charitable organisations has proved very satisfying ( pigs and goats are in fashion this Christmas )

The whole adventure has been rewarding, meaningful and FUN! Dare I continue to have the courage to do without and give more to enable others to have more to share? I will try as I remember this hymn.

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all those things will be added unto you.

God Bless!
