As I finish my preparations for the Hearing the Hurt service tomorrow morning, I’m glad to have found a great article from Relevant Magazine which deals with some of the unhelpful responses we can have to someone expressing that they have been hurt by the Church. You can read it here
Most of the examples fall into the category of victim-blaming, a trait we noticed was prominent in the book of Job. I’ll definitely be seeking permission to use some of the article in our next edition of the Messenger.
