Flinders Quartet is coming to St Luke’s Uniting Church at 2.00pm on the 23rd of February 2019 to play Schumann’s String Quartet No. 3 in A major, Op. 41, No. 3, Haydn’s String Quartet Op. 64, No. 3, and a brand new commission from Melbourne composer Matthew Laing.

The performance is a prize orchestrated by 3MBS as part of a subscriber competition, which was won by a long-time St Luke’s member. She suggested sharing the concert with the community and Flinders Quartet have graciously agreed for the concert to be a fundraiser. The money raised will support The Tent of Nations in Bethlehem and Frontier Services in Australia, organisations with which St Luke’s is connected and whose work builds community in places where it is greatly needed.

Entry is by donation, and in recognition of the calibre of the performers and to maximise support for both causes, a minimum donation of $20 per person (full) and $10 (concession) is suggested, but these amounts are not prescriptive. Light refreshments will be served after the performance, so make the time to come and enjoy this wonderful program of classical music in Mount Waverley.
