Sunday worship 29th March

Since the announcement of gathering restrictions on churches, St Luke’s has been working on ways to keep connected and to worship together. We’ve been using the online platform, Zoom, to enable us to worship together. The 29th of March was our first effort entirely on Zoom and while it had plenty of technical difficulties, it was also heartening to see lots of congregation members connecting with Sunday worship (57 in all, with several couples sharing their Zoom device). We’re working to reduce the technical difficulties and enhance the sense of connection. Next week we’ll have recorded accompaniment and improved equipment, and we’ll experiment with breakout rooms, allowing small groups of congregation members to converse with one another, which about 20 people stayed around to do after the service, but which was difficult because of the medium we’re working in. These are challenging times, but creativity is coming to the fore and the Spirit still unites us, even when we are separated.

It’s a little rough, but here’s what we did. Next week will be better, but the main thing is the way people got to connect.
